Zentangle ® is a meditative art form created by Rick Roberts and Maria Thomas that is well suited to those individuals who believe themselves incapable of producing "art".  Based on the premise that "anything is possible... one stroke at a time ," this systematic yet creative approach frees the mind to reach deeper levels of relaxation while producing admirable tangible works of art.  (see copyright information below)

A labyrinth is an archetypal pattern that consists of a single unicursal path, which, unlike a maze, has no tricks, no meaningless paths, no dead-ends or choices.   In a walking laybrinth, or even a finger labyrinth, t he one path leads you inevitably to the center.   Some find a parallel between the labyrinth and our spiritual paths or our life journey.

All Aboard!
The 2015 Zentangle Cruise is now boarding!

The 2015 Zentangle Cruise "Untangling Mayan Mysteries: an Exploration in Tangle Deconstruction" is designed for all skill levels, from beginner to CZT. We'll begin with a short introductory class on our first day at sea. Following lunch, we'll gather to discuss and practice "tangle deconstruction." At our ports of call, you'll be encouraged to notice and record the patterns you discover, whether you choose to take advantage of the beautiful beaches, the towns and shops, the Mayan Ruins, or just hang out on the ship. We'll wrap up on our final sea day, sharing our discoveries and demonstrating how we've turned them into tangle patterns. All materials for the classes will be provided.
This 5 night cruise aboard Royal Caribbean's Brilliance of the Seas will be setting sale from the port of Tampa, Florida on January 12, 2015. For more information and a reservation form, visit

Weekend Zentangle/Labyrinth Retreat
May 16 - 18, 2014

Does a relaxing, mindful, gentle Spring weekend beside a babbling brook in the pastoral mountains of North Georgia sound good to you?  A place where all the cooking and dishes are done for you so you can devote yourself to indulging in the restful art of Zentangle and peaceful walks on a labyrinth?  Then read on!

There is a combination Zentangle/Labyrinth Weekend Retreat scheduled for May 16-18, 2014 at Camp Mikell in Toccoa, Georgia!    This year we will have more focus on Zentangle with enough free time to explore one of the local labyrinths at your leisure.

Arriving in time for dinner Friday evening, you will end the evening with a short introduction to the basics of Zentangle and socializing with other members of our little group in Mikell's Retreat Village.  Saturday morning after a hearty breakfast we will immerse ourselves in the tangling experience.  After lunch, you'll have a chance to learn about labyrinths, or continue with your tangling project, or start another, until the rest of us catch up and we'll tangle until 'free time' when you can stroll the grounds (there are trails and a boardwalk through a wetland area), take a short nap, or continue tangling on your own.  We'll regroup for a short happy hour, then after dinner we'll gather ('round the fire with s'mores if the air is cool) finishing our Zentangles and sharing our experiences of the day before turning in for the night.  Sunday morning after breakfast you are invited to attend a short worship service and a final tangling session before departing after a hearty send-off lunch.  (Plans are being made to have Reiki healing appointments available that afternoon, for those of you who don't have to hurry right home.)

And there will be a prize drawing, too!

Accomodations are double occupancy for $315 ($365 for single occupancy) in hotel-style rooms with 2 double beds, and all meals (from dinner Friday through lunch on Sunday) will be included.  Email for a registration form and flyer -

Space is limited so register now!  Email for a registration form.  Registration deadline is February 1 and a deposit is due with your form.  Balance of payment will be due by March 29.

As always, I welcome your questions about this, or any other activity or class I conduct.  There will be updates here and on our Facebook page (

Happy tangling,
